Parent Letter – March 19th

Lunch Help Needed: Mrs. Mailloux is taking some time off in April and we are looking for some extra help preparing lunches. The days that we need help are April 15, 20, 21 and 22. If you are able to help on one (or all!) of these days, please let me know.
March 25 Mass: Students will attend Mass at 8:30am on Thursday, March 25, to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation, where we celebrate the day that the Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary announcing that she was going to be the mother of Jesus. Even though Mary did not understand completely, she trusted God’s plan for her life, and she said yes to becoming the mother of God and our mother. The words of the “Hail Mary” come from the Angel’s greeting: “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” God’s grace lives in each one of us, but Mary was full of grace because she was born without any Original Sin. We can turn to Mary, our mother, whenever we need help making difficult decisions or if we are scared to say yes to God. (We will not attend Mass Wednesday) Please join us!
Third Marking Period: The end of the third marking period is next Thursday, March 25. We have a half day of school that day with dismissal at 11:00am. Report cards will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, April 6th.
Lent is a time to turn back to those we have hurt or offended, and to apologize, ask pardon and try to recognize the ways we have refused to obey God’s laws or failed to live up to God’s call that we lead holy life. The sacrament of penance helps us in this task. Our 4th-8th grade students will have an opportunity for reconciliation on Thursday. You too have an opportunity for reconciliation on Wednesdays, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and Fridays from Noon to 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Open House: Our All School (PreK- 8th grade) Open House and registration for new families will be held on Tuesday, April 20st from 5pm to 6:30pm. If you know of anyone with children who may be interested in St. Mary School, please encourage them to attend. You are our best form of advertisement! Help needed: We are still looking for help on Wednesdays and Fridays for lunch duty.
