Position Overview
St. Mary School is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where students can develop their physical abilities, teamwork skills, and a lifelong appreciation for health and wellness. This position is for one day per week (preferably Thursday) to teach students in grades K-8th.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Plan and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons for students in grades K–8 that focus on motor skills, fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment in the gym and on the outside play area.
- Assessment: Evaluate student progress, participation, and skill development fairly and constructively.
- Collaboration: Work alongside faculty, staff, and administration to support school-wide events, field days, and recess supervision.
- Safety & Maintenance: Ensure all athletic equipment is safe, properly maintained, and stored securely.
Must pass a background check and complete the Diocesan safe environment training prior to employment.
