During afterschool hours, we offer Extended Care, Homework Help, Afterschool Enrichment Classes, and Athletic Teams. During school hours, we offer Children’s Choir and Builders Club. Please see below to learn more about each of these opportunities:
Extended Care
Extended Care is offered everyday afterschool until 5:30pm. Please contact the main school office to register your student and to inquire about cost. If before school care is needed, please let us know so we can make arrangements.
Homework Help
Homework Help is offered everyday afterschool until 3:30pm. It is held in the computer lab or a classroom. Each session is monitored by one of our school staff. Please consider taking advantage of this great opportunity! To register your student and to inquire about cost, please contact the main school office.
Afterschool Enrichment Programs
Afterschool Enrichment Programs vary throughout the school year. In the 2024-2025 school year, we offered fitness programs such as golf and academic programs such as pottery, and portrait making. Each program varies on age of students, days of the week, time, and cost. All Afterschool Enrichment Programs are open for St. Mary School students and students in Charlevoix and it’s surrounding area. Please contact Mrs. Spears to:

Athletic Teams
Athletics was brought to our school in Fall 2025 for students in grades 6-8th. Our student-athletes are the Guardians and we are proudly part of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). In our inaugural year, we offered Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys Basketball, and Boys and Girls Track & Field. We are excited to continue these teams and to offer more sports in future seasons. Children’s Choir
Children’s Choir is for St. Mary School students and Homeschool students in grades 4-8th. Children’s choir is a school club and rehearses during school hours. They provide music during our Student Led Masses on Wednesday and on First Fridays. They also had the opportunity to preform live music at the Castle Farm’s Live Nativity Scene and sing the National Anthem at the Traverse City Pit Spitters. Homeschool students will need to complete a school registration form to participate in Children’s Choir. Builder’s Club
Builder’s Club is for students in Grades 6-8th and is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Charlevoix. Students learn many skills such as leadership, communication, planning, fundraising, and many more. Builder’s Club is a school club that meets during school and afterschool hours.
